Examples of built-in functions:

• When it gets dark, the lights of your drive and your garage are automatically switched on when you open the garage door.
• LUXOM function keys require a simple click of a switch to turn off all lights and selected devices, to turn down the heating and possibly draw the curtains. In other words, you don't need to worry when you leave your house.
• When the kids leave the lights on in their room, it is automatically switched off after a while.
• The shutters can be opened and closed at fixed times in the morning or evening or depending on the amount of daylight
• When you go into the bathroom, the light is switched on, the heating is turned up 2 degrees and the ventilation automatically switches on after a while.

Energy is only used where and when required and in the right amounts. A rational use of energy need not interfere with the comfort of your home.
Well-thought out LED lighting can therefore be a part of your Luxom installation.
Maximum use of passive solar energy is achieved through the optimum performance of our sun blinds. In the winter the sun blinds open less quickly in case of bright sunshine. This allows the heating to reach the comfort temperature using less energy.

Typical examples of automatic energy management functions:<

• The comfort temperature is maintained as long as there are people in the house. As soon as the last person has left the house, the heating is turned down automatically to standby or eco-temperature.
• By day, all the lights in the house are switched off where enough daylight is available.
• The garden lights cannot be switched on if there is still enough daylight.
• In the winter, maximum use is made of passive solar energy and the shutters won't open as quickly in case of bright sunshine. This allows the heating to reach the comfort temperature using less energy.
• Lights can be automatically switched off when they've been on for more than 60 minutes. Examples: garage, cellar.
• Presence detection sensors switch off the light in children's bedrooms when no-one is in the room.

Malfunctions and defects, both in electricity and water consumption, are immediately detected. You can choose how you want to be notified, even if you're outdoors. This allows you to take action immediately and choose a safe and quick solution.
Access control, fire and security systems can also be integrated in your Luxom installation.

Typical examples of built-in automatic monitoring systems:

• In case of a FIRE ALARM all lighting is switched on and the plugs, ventilation and heating are switched off. These actions are also carried out when you press the panic buttons or in extraordinary situations.
• The sun blinds close automatically when the wind picks up, even if the sun is still shining.
• To protect your house from BURGLARY, deterring burglars is a first but not unimportant step. The LUXOM system has a number of built-in functions that complement your normal alarm system. If a burglar alarm is triggered, all the lights in the house are switched on and the garden lights flash on and off to draw attention to your house. The shutters can also be programmed to open automatically.
• On leaving your house, a number of critical wall outlets are automatically switched off such as the coffee machine and the deep fryer.
• When you go into the storage space or down to the cellar, the lights are switched on automatically.

Options in combination with home theatre systems:

• The LUXOM system adds another dimension when you watch your favourite DVD movie. When you start the DVD player with the remote control, the ideal ambient lighting atmosphere is automatically created and the shutters closed, if necessary, in order to watch the movie under ideal circumstances. Of course, a motorised wall screen can also be lowered.
• A colour touch screen gives you a visual overview of the status of your home. All functions of the home automation system can of course be controlled from this one central remote. Alternatively, it can also be used as a remote control for your TV or radio. It is the perfect supplement for your home theatre system and can be expanded with an Internet option.
• A multi-room audio system allows you to listen to your CD player, radio or any other audio source in any room of your house. A stylish wall cover in every room allows you to select your favourite music. Thanks to the high-quality recessed wall loudspeakers with volume and sound control you don't need to go without your favourite music.
• The LUXOM system is compatible with unique AV equipment which can be connected to the basic system. It allows problem-free expansion of your system with new options.

The day-to-day use of the installation is handy and user-friendly for all members of the family. Time and temperature functions can be easily and efficiently changed if necessary. A changing lifestyle, requirements, even climate, form no obstacle for your Luxom system.

Basic principles in the day-to-day use of the LUXOM system:

• NO TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED. For instance, changing the time functions, e.g. when the shutters should open in the morning, is done intuitively and is easier than programming your video recorder. An easy-to-use remote control also allows you to operate your LUXOM system, in addition to TV, video and DVD. This is very handy for combined functions.
• 'Reprogramming' can be done in several ways. With your home computer in your trusted Windows environment, a small wall display or an LCD touch screen. Whichever way, you always have a clear visual overview of the situation at home.
• You plan to change the layout of your house in a few years? No problem. Adjusting the existing configuration could not be easier. This saves you quite a bit of money compared to classic systems because no electrical wiring is required.
• Changing the light settings is done with a press of a button in teaching mode. Easy and user-friendly.
